Ok, so I don't usually read romance novels... the last time I did, I was probably in my teens, neither do I usually read contemporary fiction. However, since I need to write a blog article about the romance genre, I needed to read a romance novel and thought why not read the work of a fellow St. Lucian. The sample of 'Play me a love Song' caught my attention first because the language and mannerisms of the main character were so familiar, but for some reason I ended up purchasing 'Her Heart's Desire' first. My goodness...I cannot recall the last time I enjoyed reading this much! I seriously could not put this book down... (or my phone with the kindle app down). I laughed out loud, I gasped, sat up... clutched my sheets.. cried. I would love to explain why, however I don't think that I should spoil this book for anyone. But, to get such a reaction, from me especially, it means that this author has a pure talent for connecting with her readers, through her work on a psychological level, knowing exactly how to play on her readers' narrative expectations and stereotypes, and then twist the plot to give a somewhat opposite outcome. I also appreciated the mild use of the story within a story technique. I was especially thrilled as a St. Lucian to be able to visualise the places and relate to the experiences described in this novel and I am definitely looking forward to reading the rest of her work.Product details

It is interesting where life can take us. This story takes the reader there. Its an out of the box way to look at opertunity, and the fights one has to take. I loved it.
